Back in Action and training week 11/3/25-11/8/25

    Alright, so I'm back in action. I know, it's like been 2 years. So I went to that race and BQ'ed for Boston then found out my wife was having an affair and took off with the guy basically two weeks after my last post. Sounds ridiculous I know, but that sent me for a loop for quiet some time and unfortunately did happen . I'm still dealing with some stomach issue's that I'm assuming are stress related due to this whole shabang but yeah I wasn't running Boston that's for sure and really couldn't train as my life crumbled before me. I'm going to leave it at that but if anyone ever has that happen and needs support please comment or reach out. It's not a fun place to be.

    Anyway,  in regards to training there has not been much going on. I went from 10-50 miles a few times and would just end up insanely fatigued and feeling like I was going backwards and have to restart building volume. I have been lifting a bit more (3-4 times a week and haven't missed a lift in probably the entire last 2 years) which has kept me somewhat in shape and am generally very active with walking the dogs, basketball and a random amateur baseball league I played in so I'm hoping I can jump right back in here and pick up where I left off, or at least not to far off. It might be wishful thinking but these last 6 weeks or so I have been sitting on 40-60 miles a week with a few workouts for a 5K coming up. The 5K will be in early December and if all systems are going well I'm going to take a down week and start building for a spring marathon to hopefully get back into Boston and run some fast times.

Last week of training:

 Mon: 7 miles easy at 8:13. Felt bad. Push day in the gym.

Tues:  8 miles total with 4X200, 4X400, 4X200 w/ equal jog rest. 200s about 36 and 400s 73-75. The splits are fine but I felt like shit for the entirety of this. Pull day in the gym.

Wed: Off

Thurs: 8.8 at 7:37.  Push day in the gym.

Fri: 7.5 with 7 by 2 min hard 1 min off. 2min around 5:20ish pace, 1Min rest 8:20ish. Pull day in the gym.

Sat: 9 at 8:20. Really felt like dog shit here.

Sun: Made it 2 miles into my 14-16 miler. Think I was and am fighting off a cold or something. Really run down.

 Total Miles: 40

Just a tough week for me, getting the work done but both the gym and running have felt horrible. Trying to add more calories to maintain the work volume.
