Training Week 11/9-11/15

Let's be honest, you thought it was going to be another two year break between posts but things are rolling along pretty well now. Last week I was pretty tired and I made sure to add a bunch of calories to see if that would help things turn around and it worked pretty well. Ended up with a really solid week of training that's giving me some promise of maybe a decent time come the December 5K this block is for.

Monday:  7 miles on the treadmill at lunch @ 8:30s. Push day at the gym after work

Tuesday:  8 miles total with 4 by 1200 @ 4:05ish w/ 3 min rest with my buddy Eric. Felt okay here, it was really cold and windy at the track. Pull day at the gym after work

Wednesday:  8.3 @ 8:04 early before work.

Thursday:  8.8 @ 7:37. Push day after work

Friday:  8 miles with 4 by 1 mile @ 5:42ish w/ 1 min rest with Danny and Eric. Felt meh here. Pull day after work.

Saturday: 16  with Danny at 7:49. First real long run in a while and considering it was coming on the back of Fridays workout I was really happy with how this felt and went. Went into Boston and ran along the Charles which is always fun.

Sunday:  7 on the treadmill at 8:30. Really windy outside and now I'm an old cranky man who hates the wind I guess.

 Total Miles: 64

This was honestly one of my best training weeks I've had in a while. Solid volume, two solid workouts, hit all my lifts and got up early for some morning runs. I really felt like I turned a corner here to hopefully the trend continues. Really focusing on eating healthy and sleeping a lot in the name of recovery here and if the 5K goes well I'll probably drop two lifting days, add some doubles and shoot for a spring Marathon. I also do have a few race reports that I'll come out with from the summer, I almost forgot I did a little harpoon 5 miler build and BAA 10K, plus a stroller race with the kids.

The comeback train is dangerously close to being back on the rails here.
