Training Week 1/5/26-1/11/26

Another week of training down. Pretty good week overall, decided to bring the mileage down after the 84 mile week to about 75. Had two solid workouts but could definitely feel the fatigue building up and was working pretty hard by the end of the week. 

 
Monday: Off. Quads were very sore after the hilly 18 miler the day before.

Tuesday: 10.5 at 7:38. Pace and effort felt good after the off day but still could feel the damage in my quads.

Wednesday: 15 miles total on the treadmill with a 3 mile tempo (5:52), 2 by 2 mile @ (5:52,5:5) and (5:52,5:35). This was extremely tough and I don't think I enjoyed even a single second of this run. Could really feel the fatigue still in my quads. A little concerned I was burning it to hot here but decided to push through. 

Thursday:  10 @ 7:46. Glad to get this one in but extremely fatigued. 

Friday:  10 @ 7:19

Saturday:  18 @ 6:29. This was 2 mile warm up, 8 mile tempo (6:15-6:25ish), 1 mile easy + 6 mile tempo (6:10-6:15) + 1 easy. Really happy with this. Pace felt pretty easy was still pretty tired going into this but it was definitely a bit of a grind towards the end. 

Sunday:  10 @ 8:18. Dead ass tired here. Glad to get it in and keep the weekly mileage where it needs to be.

74 miles total for the week. Felt pretty fatigued all week but got the workouts in. Not sure where this puts me for a target goal for my marathon but if I keep trending this way I'm hoping 2:45 might be in the cards. I kind of want to play it cautious but I'm not sure yet on the plan. Also had two days of lifting. Lifting is going poorly which is to be expected due to the volume of miles but I'm still fighting to keep it in the week.
